VASARELY, Victor

Victor Vasarely, HUN

* 1908     † 1997

Victor Vasarely was one of the most important representatives of "op-art". He constructed pieces of art almost scientifically using a relatively small number of geometrical forms, and making use of the potential provided by optic illusions by colour, form and perspective.

Vasarely had been working for Rosenthal as from 1964. He created several reliefs for the limited art edition, e.g. »NB 22 Caope« and »NB 11« (50 pieces each) or the »Relief« (100 pieces). In their "Art Collection No.4" Rosenthal studio-line successfully offered  the »Hommage à Victor Vasarely« in 2000. He had designed the facades for the Rosenthal Studio-Häuser in Berlin, Düsseldorf and Paris.
