HAP Grieshaber was known as a master of artistic woodcarvings. Influenced by expressionism he created coloured woodcarvings of great visual impact, also in large sizes, which reveal the influence of medieval bookmaking and printings. Grieshaber started working for Rosenthal in 1967. He created the relief »Pan« (50 pieces) for the limited art edition. He gave original printing plates as a present to Philip Rosenthal. They are to be seen as decoration on the walls of Castle Erkersreuth in Selb.
