KOCH, Otto

Otto Koch, GER

* 1901     † 1974

Otto Koch was a sculptor and painter. As of 1920 he was head of the newly founded art department of the factory Bahnhof-Selb (in Plößberg), in 1931 he became proxy and in 1945 factory manager thereof. Quote Philip Rosenthal about Otto Koch: "There is no suggestion that he would not scrutinise to the last. He is especially open-minded towards his staff members; the training of apprentices is a big issue for him."
Koch worked for Rosenthal from 1920 to 1966. He created the Rosenthal shapes »20:1« and »Aida«, which are still a successful component of the current Rosenthal classic product range.
