The Form »Moon«
In 1997, Jasper Morrison achieves with his form »Moon« the basic design requirement “form follows function” by a simple layout of lines which are derived from existing and proven designs. He developed them even more, re-formed and combined them in a new way. When the observer asks for the original design, Morrison has achieved his intention because “design is not the demonstration of the extraordinary. Only one thing is important: it has to work.”
»Moon« is a good example for the classic modern age. It is void of any effects, every details is based in its functionality. It radiates self confidence and sovereignty in its overall effect. While concentrating on the essential and the use of the form, a powerful, convincing design is emerging.
»Moon« and the matching accessories series »Moon C-Line« and »Moon Cova« are design classics which have been honored with several awards after a relatively short period of time: BIBLIOGRAPHY |
