Trade Fair Stand at the Messe Frankfurt
Architect: Mario Bellini Mario Bellini’s architecture for the presentation of Rosenthal studio-line emphasises ideally the uniqueness of the products on display. In the centre of Hall 10.5 at the Messe Frankfurt a two-level stand was created underneath a rooflight dome. It was Bellini’s objective to have a "protected area" for the special products of the Rosenthal AG, an area, that should not cause barrier fears, though. The stand consists of two opposing L-shaped walls, thus giving way for two diagonally situated entrances. From there staircases lead up to the gallery. The gallery’s floor serves as light-roof for the subjacent area. Bellini used grey sand-lime brick, brushed stainless steel and frosted glass with opal-like reflections. The construction and the choice of materials give the stand "a strictly technological and aesthetic appearance without any unnecessary overstatement. They enable Rosenthal to take over a leading role because the effect of their performance is neither troubled by the structure of the hall nor by the chaotic diversity of neighbouring stands", says the architect.
