HUNDERTWASSER, Friedensreich

Friedensreich Hundertwasser (Friedrich Stowasser), AUT

* 1928     † 2000

Friedensreich Hundertwasser was one of the most popular artists of the 80s. Leitmotifs of his unmistakable painting were ornamental spirals and mazes which, when combined become partly realistic, partly abstract ensembles through the use of bright colours.
Hundertwasser started working for Rosenthal in 1981. He created  the ceramic object »Blumenhaus« (500 pieces) for the Rosenthal limited art edition. In 1983 he re-designed the facade of the Porcelain Factory in Selb, the porterhouse as well as the staff car park in order to realise his idea of a symbiosis with nature and the conservation of our natural environment.
